Dr. Hu was invited as a discussant in the 2019 UCGIS symposium on the panel Integrating Space and Place in GIScience: Examples, Challenges and Opportunities. Humanities scholars frequently deal with textual data, and the discussions in this year’s UCGIS showed a lot of opportunities of integrating our expertise in spatial and textual analysis with digital humanities research.
